Thoughtful design
for everyday living
be. is a small Tauranga interior design studio specialising in kitchen, bathroom and full-home design for renovations and new builds across the Bay of Plenty.
We believe good design is about more than how a home looks. It's about creating spaces that reflect who you are, support the way you live, and make your everyday better.
Whether you're seeking a second opinion, help with a room or two, or a design partner from first sketch to final handover, we'd love to help you create your favourite place to be.
Beautiful, practical &
carefully considered
With every project, we take time to understand how you wish to live: your routines, priorities, budget and personal style. This insight forms the foundation of the design, ensuring every decision reflects your aspirations and how you truly wish to live.
Working closely with you, your architect and builder, we combine creative thinking, design expertise and practical construction knowledge to visualise what’s possible, then shape that vision into beautifully considered, highly functional spaces. The result is a home that not only looks beautiful but also feels comfortable, cohesive and effortless to live in.
A home that feels distinctly yours.
A home where you can simply be.
What you can expect from be.
A considered and collaborative approach.
Clear communication and structured guidance.
Design decisions made with aesthetics, functionality and your budget in mind.
A process that reduces overwhelm and brings confidence to every stage of your project.
And most importantly...creation of your favourite place to be.
"I had a wonderful experience working with Josephine. Her communication skills were excellent throughout the entire process, keeping me informed & involved at every step. She is incredibly talented & has a great eye for design, transforming ideas into beautiful & functional spaces. What impressed me most was her ability to work within my budget while still delivering outstanding results. She went above & beyond to ensure everything was perfect, paying attention to every detail & exceeding my expectations."
SAM, TAURANGA
Josephine was absolutely amazing. I was going around in circles trying to choose tiles, colours, & finishes. She stepped in & made the entire process so easy and seamless. Her eye for design & ability to pull everything together took all the stress away. I genuinely would have been lost without her guidance & can’t recommend her highly enough!
KATIE, MOUNT MAUNGANUI
"Great advice & easy to deal with. Josephine genuinely listened to my ideas & budget. I was given honest feedback, clear solutions with pictures, examples & price options so I could make confident decisions"
MELISSA, TAURANGA
"Josephine listened carefully to our needs & understood us straight away, which made the whole process so much easier. We just felt in good hands. Our footprint was small, but thanks to her expertise, attention to detail & great ideas, we have created a warm, timeless & convenient kitchen that we all love.
